As the cool air moves in, I’m thinking of a warm cup of ginger tea. Known for its soothing warmth and healing properties, this ancient herbal drink has been enjoyed for centuries in Ayurvedic and Eastern medicine to support digestion, immunity, and overall balance.

Simple Ginger Tea Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1–2 inches of fresh ginger root (peeled and thinly sliced)

  • 2 cups of water

  • 1–2 teaspoons of honey (optional)

  • 1 teaspoon of lemon juice (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Bring the water to a boil in a small pot.

  2. Add the ginger slices and reduce the heat. Let it simmer for about 10 minutes.

  3. Strain the tea into a cup.

  4. Add honey and lemon juice if desired, and stir well.

  5. Sip slowly and enjoy the soothing aroma and warmth.

Tip: For a spicier kick, simmer the ginger longer. You can also add a pinch of turmeric, cinnamon, and black pepper for extra spice and health benefits.

Easy Ginger Prep & Storage

  1. Grind the rest of your unused peeled ginger roots.

  2. Spoon the paste into an ice cube tray and freeze it.

  3. Once frozen, remove the cubes and store them in a zip-lock bag.

  4. Whenever you want to make tea or add ginger to cooking, simply take one cube from the freezer — no peeling or chopping needed!

Drinking ginger tea is more than just a healthy habit — it’s a small ritual of self-care. As you sip, feel the warmth travel through your body, calming your mind and awakening your senses. So next time you need a little comfort or energy boost, brew a cup of ginger tea — simple, natural, and full of goodness.
